Music is the closest thing to God for me, to spirituality. To freedom of expression and all things mysterious in the universe. It means more to me every day. I dabble in whatever sounds I like under a single name — Plastic Dents — doing my damndest to follow my muse and subvert audience expectations, as well as my own.

Without Any Constraints
Greetings! I want to let you know that I have an Avant-garde/Alternative Rock music project called NETHRACEDICON.
I’m sure you’re probably thinking, “Nethra-what!?” And, you’re correct. This is not a word. It’s a fictional title I have given myself, as an independent recording artist. “Nethra” is actually a male first name that can be found in India. Also, at the tail end, you can find “Icon,” which someone I used to work with pointed out to me.
When I was 20, and still in college at Texas A&M University, I hooked up with some musicians who were needing a drummer for their Reggae group, Raggamuffin. During the Fall of 2005, I became their active drummer and managed to capture multiple rehearsal sessions with a portable device. This was my introduction into “do-it-yourself,” home audio recording and I’ve been doing this ever since.

It was March in Seattle, and I’d just had all four wisdom teeth removed while listening to Megadeth. I was lying in bed – – healing and reading Tom Wolfe’s “Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test” – – when I got a text from a fellow singer/songwriter (we’ll call him Drew), asking if I’d like to join him for a road trip to Austin, Texas. We would leave in a few days. After arriving we’d stay with a traveling musician named DB Rouse who lived and worked on a horse ranch just outside of the city. DB had set up a makeshift recording studio in a shack on the property and had invited Drew to come down and record some songs.
My need for adventure greatly outweighed my need for rest, so I agreed to tag along.

Sage Suede – Un Photo de Toi Nu, from RAWR mixtape
by Sage Suede
Hi, I’m Sage Suede. This is my first blog post on mysoundposter.com! I have another blog on SageSuede.com and SageSuede.tumblr.com.
A little about me: I started my website in 2015 and released DIAMONDBACK Demo in 2017. DIAMONDBACK Demo was recorded in Northeastern’s Snell Library with an iPhone, while I attended classes full time. Later, I released a compilation of free tracks on my website called 2018 Freebies Bangers. It changes languages a few times. I’m a polyglot, so I change my mind a lot lol.
The story of Austin, TX power-pop feminist band, Mean Jolene
by Jolie Flink
In the aftermath of being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and the end of a long-term relationship, I was on a manic tear and writing songs at lightning speed. At the time, my late-night escapades included a lot of flings and raging substance use — this was the only way I knew how to manage my symptoms at the time. I wasn’t exactly treating my bipolar disorder with traditional medicine or therapy.
Fuvk finds her Lyrics Therapeutic
This week’s featured artist fuvk definitely finds her music to be therapeutic. She started writing lyrics as a coping mechanism for depression and anxiety, and she hopes that people can find a sense of relatability through her words. Even if people can’t share her experiences, they probably can understand her sentiments in the music and lyrics and find solace in that kind of solidarity.

The Quality of Home Recording as done by fuvk
Although our artist of the week known as fuvk recorded her early tracks in her bedroom, the quality stands out compared to other home recordings of non-electronic music. How does she do it?

Musical Diaries by the artist known as Fuvk
From time to time, you hear a song that is so perfect and commercially viable that you ask yourself, “how is this not a major record already?” We used this statement already for our artist of the week in early February Kris Angelis. But it is even more true for the mysterious girl making music as fuvk. Hopefully, featuring her here gets her the attention she deserves.
