Music is more than chords and percussion and isolated tunes. If there’s one thing that music in films teaches us, it’s that any sound can inspire an emotion, and that’s what lies at the core of musicianship.
The ambition of Syrenomelia is to find back the strangeness, the dirtiness, the emotion and passion which characterised the alternative rock music between the 60ties and late 90ties – defying the industrialised and genre-focussed ways of making music that have been so ubiquitous in the last 20 years.
In the first grade, I carried history books around like spell books. There was this magic about language that I felt compelled to keep close, like it had secret powers that I didn’t have access to yet. Clinging to an impressive-looking pile of books every day at school was also how I prevented my classmates from realizing I couldn’t read.
Life is complicated. It’s filled with ups, downs, ins, outs, widths, lengths, and any dimension that you can think of. We are in a world of over 8 billion people. Each person with their own unique mind and chemical make up. If that’s not complex, I don’t know what is. That means billions of personalities and trillion of possibilities. Yet, as different as we are, we are also very similar.

We are all adaptable beings looking for goodness, in search of a method of living free of suffering and anxiety.
