In the wake of trauma, and especially abuse, there is often a bottoming out of the self: it can feel like everything you were has been hollowed out and replaced by this terrible event. When I started to heal, I began writing songs.

We are sisters, we write songs, we tell stories.
……We offered our first album on Bandcamp for free – (fans could pay if they wanted.) Someone paid 50 cents for one of our songs and we couldn’t believe it.
That was all the encouragement we needed……

In the first grade, I carried history books around like spell books. There was this magic about language that I felt compelled to keep close, like it had secret powers that I didn’t have access to yet. Clinging to an impressive-looking pile of books every day at school was also how I prevented my classmates from realizing I couldn’t read.

I am interested in constraint-based art, and I have found that I work best under pressure, so for the last two albums I released, I gave myself strict deadlines and rules to work within.

Hailing from the town of Nottingham, England, I relocated to London in 2014. Gigging consistently solo and with various outfits such as Never Never Man and Frankie Teardrop Dead, I found time to begin working with producer Gavin Bowers (Elêphant, Tsuki) on the record in the fall of 2017. Collaborating with a host of different musicians on the album, I wanted to ensure that each track on my album ’The Town and The City’ was as varied as the settings that inspired the songs themselves.

Nice to meet you Everyone in the world. 初めまして、私の名前はモデです。I am making music from Japan. I use electronics and guitar etc. It is chill out with ennui. I would like to introduce my music.

Moonshine Effect travel through the night in a psychedelic mood, humming dream pop melodies. They enjoy riding into pink moons on dancing horses and whispering folk sounds in the cool early morning breeze. They insist on watching the constellations of trembling blue stars, gently screaming their poetry till it touches the sky.

Have you ever been touched by the magical wand of music? If you have, then you will agree with me when I say, Music is a healing pill in a sound form. Though It does come in different types (genres) and affects each individual differently, it’s essence never changed. Despite its cultural enrichment, we always acknowledge its ability to speak to our emotions. I had learned to love music in general (Writing, Singing, and Listening) from creche and since have known its soothing and healing powers. I know you haven’t forgotten how your mother sang you to a total calmness from horrid cry and slowly serenade you to sleep. If you have, well I haven’t, I experienced such beautiful time uncountable times, and I bet you, it was the beginning to what you now see today.

After several experiences in different bands that have enriched me both personally and musically, I decided to take the leap as a solo musician, presenting my full-length debut album GARMAN.

When I was in High School, I dated a girl who introduced me to her friend Fred. Fred and I hit it off nicely and eventually started writing music together, both heavier rock and metal styles, as well as some acoustic-based compositions. We shared a very similar approach as far as how we wrote melodies and put chords together, but it was not yet as refined as it would end up being years later; we were younger then. In 2006, we began to go our separate ways in life, me with finishing my Bachelor’s in Music Education, Fred with his career and a new relationship.
