What happens when three traveling street musicians from different backgrounds come together into a single path for a brief snapshot of time? You get the culturally rich sound garden of the Kelebek Evrimi project.
Hailing from the town of Nottingham, England, I relocated to London in 2014. Gigging consistently solo and with various outfits such as Never Never Man and Frankie Teardrop Dead, I found time to begin working with producer Gavin Bowers (Elêphant, Tsuki) on the record in the fall of 2017. Collaborating with a host of different musicians on the album, I wanted to ensure that each track on my album ’The Town and The City’ was as varied as the settings that inspired the songs themselves.
My brothers and I started out deejaying and producing as Chalice Palace Music in the late 90s, still Teenagers. Most of our productions were with local upcoming talents from our hood. At that time, we never had a distribution deal, so most of the work was unreleased until 2004 we released a few 45s. But we still had a long, long way to go until to receive recognition.
