The Secrets Behind

The Secrets Behind by Lauren Beeler
Let’s start this with a little bit of math. What do you get when you solve the equation below:

The death of your innocence
+ the trials of adulthood
+ dark humor as a coping mechanism
= ???

That’s right! You get my album Dixie Plaza.

As someone who has always wanted to finally get myself together and make an album, I never realized that sometimes it takes your worst moments to create something that you are genuinely proud of in the end result.

With Every Breath You Die by Day & Dream
Day & Dream is a husband-wife team, Peter Frizzante, the morning person, and Abby Amaya, the night owl – our band name is a nod to our opposite sleep schedules. Underground Non-Star by MRA NEHLS / WEATHER
Hi, I am Miira. I am living far from YOUR world. I mean far from this patriarchal-smallminded-selfcalled-society. This is a great pool and I am not very sure that I can swim there or if I even want to. So I created my own world, and I am trying to hold its contour above my head.

Finding a Balance between Self-Expression and Self-Isolation as a Musician

Finding a Balance between Self-Expression and Self-Isolation as a Musician by Isabel Tarcson
I was taught that to be a true musician, one has to make a choice between a social life and success. This is a concept that I have struggled with for the past two years before writing Sunset Club. I first became introduced to the idea of being a performer with classical music, mainly opera. The story of Austin, TX power-pop feminist band, Mean Jolene by Jolie Flink
In the aftermath of being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and the end of a long-term relationship, I was on a manic tear and writing songs at lightning speed. At the time, my late-night escapades included a lot of flings and raging substance use — this was the only way I knew how to manage my symptoms at the time. I wasn’t exactly treating my bipolar disorder with traditional medicine or therapy.

My crazy adventure as a street musician: a life-changing year by Iris Johner
It’s lost and heavy-hearted that I decided to settle down on my own in south Portugal in November 2017. After three years of travels around the world and a summer back to my hometown realizing time was flying and driving my dreams away from me, it appeared to be the perfect deal for a start over – as the one place I would most likely call home.

SoundFields, A Remarkable Story

by Robert Fields

SoundFields, a Remarkable Story by Robert van der Velden aka Robert Fields

Apart from being behind the band SoundFields, I (Robert Fields) am the main character in a screenplay about someone who started thinking back in 2007 that he is the one John Lennon wrote his song, Doctor Robert, about.

You might wonder how someone comes up with such a thought. One reason is that I was already around when the song Doctor Robert has been written. The Beatles’ songs filled the room where I lived when I was just a little child; when something dramatic happened: I nearly died.
