Even though I play all four members of the group, and they all come from and live in my head, I still have a little trouble clearly defining them. Zyote, the serious executive producer with a heart of lead and a painted smile. Aces Wild, the androgynous rock star/party angel who borrows Bowie’s vision and runs amok with it. Glitchtech, the anxiety-driven machine made man with an ear to the subway walls and an eye on the truth. The Thin Man, the pure diamond of barely-repressed spite with a literal cult following. How do I play them all, and how do they all play me?

Know the Reasons Behind Dream Pop Artist Sid Ready's New Release
I started my music journey at fourteen in mid-2014 playing small coffee venues with my ukulele and guitar. In early 2017, I began to grow tired of my acoustic guitar and ukulele. I then moved on, and I started writing “I Can Actually Speak.” The album portrays a lot of things bunched into one that happened between mid-2016 and up until the end of 2017. I endured failed relationships and projects, moving out really young, and realizing how awful human beings can be. This is where the harsh beginning of “I Can Actually Speak” starts.

Hot Flash Heat Wave, our eight Artist of the Week, is the brainchild of four best friends from Davis, California. During their high school years, they met and bonded through participation in a small, tight-knit community of musicians that put on a slew of DIY shows in parents’ garages and local venues, at the time each playing in a variety of different projects. After leaving Davis for various cities in California, the four eventually reunited in San Francisco to write and record under the same roof. Their debut LP Neapolitan, released in 2015, quickly launched them to the forefront of the Bay Area music scene with its candied hooks, fuzzy guitars and tunes reminiscent of The Smiths gone new wave.
