by Marcelo Badari (Looming Flames)
My name is Marcelo Badari, and I am a musician from the southeast region of Brazil. Looming Flames is my instrumental solo project since 2011.
The idea behind Looming Flames is to create music with an electric guitar, a loop pedal, and some effects pedals in a minimalistic way. I also use a Boss SP 202 sampler in my guitar chain. With it, I can have sampled acoustic drum beats, played by me, in my compositions. I have some electronic beats and some noises sampled in the SP 202 as well.
Today I would like to share some stories about the new sound art project Maquinas em Diálogo, which we started with a talented Brazilian artist, Ingrid Soares.
Originality is what makes you different. Stop copying others instead of bringing uniqueness into your work. Let the world know who you are and what stuff you are made of.
The Kameleon Bloom Collective was born from the amalgamation of two minds, two artists: Cuadrado and Torugo, that converged into the genre Lo-Fi, giving way to an idea: an album full of homemade beats, that would draw various references from many different subgenres, from trap (samurai jack), rock (changing perspective), reggae (bad luck), chillwave (working at 3 a.m.) and ambient (slow dance in the rain).
