I’ve been interested in a lot of different subjects and have tried to learn numerous skills over time — digital art, programming, web design, (briefly) robotics, among others — but most I either eventually decided weren’t for me, or I have a very on & off relationship with, being deeply interested and practicing it for months, and then spending the next year completely forgetting about it.
But everything about music — the production of it, how instruments are made, the history of music and its influences on cultures — that is the one thing I have always been fascinated by. I loved finding new music and wanted so badly to either play an instrument or even somehow make new music myself.
The Sinclair Express is a Chicago-based alternative rock trio. We’ve been working on our debut album, “All Aboard,” for four years and are incredibly proud to finally release it!
If you like Pink Floyd or Jimi Hendrix, you will like this album. If you like Reggae or Hip-Hop music, you will like this album. If you like Country or Blues music, you will like this album. If you just like to get insanely high and listen to music, you will like this album. We hit every genre with tact and precision and hope that there is a song for everybody here. Enjoy!
My name is Danny M. Cohen, and I’m one half of the Chicago-based gay folk-rock duo They Won’t Win. My “music husband” is Greg Lanier and we wrote and co-produced our debut album over a few years of life’s ups and downs. For me, parts of ‘Lost At Sea’ reflect what it was like to witness a dear friend fall into a dark, frightening place, but, ultimately, our album is about finding your way out.
Heavily influenced by such artists as Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Townes Van Zandt, and The Rolling Stones, The BuzzHounds meld alternative vocal stylings with Delta Blues and 70’s Outlaw Country to form their own brand of Americana and Rock n Roll.
Our Artist of the Week in September, Chicago’s Schaf, has been very productive recently. He produced three albums in the fourth quarter of 2017, the third and newest has been released only yesterday on New Year’s Eve.
Our Artist of the Week #17, The Remedies, is an alternative rock outfit from Chicago, Illinois comprised of guitarist and lead vocalist, Marco Obaya, bass player and backing vocalist, Jake Schnoebelen, and drummer and percussionist, Angelo Santoyo. Jake and Marco were childhood friends, while Marco and Angelo were acquaintances in high school. Marco and Angelo’s first musical encounter came in early 2014 when Marco was offered a position playing bass in The Damosellas, a punk rock band fronted by a mutual friend of theirs. He took the gig and the two quickly bonded over grunge music, coffee and cigarettes.
