The multinational eight-piece collective Superorganism, who met via music forums in 2016 and now lives together in a house together in east London, just released their self-titled debut-album on Domino Records.

We Out Here is the fantastic new compilation from Brownswood Recordings. It brings together a collection of some of the sharpest talents of London’s young jazz scene.

Our Artist of the Week #23, Sisika, are a four piece from South London, featuring Georgia Duncan on guitar and voice, her sister Katie on keys and voice, David Coughlin on bass and Lucy Katz on drums. Combining close, earthy harmonies with warm guitar, melodic bass lines, minimal synth sounds and subtle drums they create intricate, freely arranged songs with a rootsy soul folk sound.

This week’s featured artist (#22) is Birmingham/UK based The Grey Goose Blues Band. They have been beavering away on the blues scene for over 8 years now, playing at venues and festivals up and down the country.

Our newest Artist of the Week is a special one with a special story. In the mid-70s, musician and songwriter Phil Arosa fled Southern Rhodesia’s apartheid (now Zimbabwe) to settle in the Netherlands and pursue his musical career under more mundane skies. Alongside his partner Marga, he started the band Zimba, which played for ten years in clubs around the country.

PRIMA QUEEN, our featured artist of this week, is an energetic and quirky indie-rock band fronted by Louise Macphail (Bristol, England) and Kristin McFadden (Chicago, USA) whose influences range from performers as diverse as Rilo Kiley, The Killers, Fleet Foxes and Alanis Morissette.
