What’s in the name? Why Asking Everyone?
First, it’s an anagram of my name.
Second, I think it fits the purpose of my project, and ultimately my life purpose.

HEARTBEAT is the album I’ve always dreamed of releasing and It’s the result of several years of hard work after putting my creative life on hold for many years.
My return to music began in 2011, after a conversation with my oldest son about following his dreams. I realized at that moment that I hadn’t been true to my own dream of pursuing a music career. I don’t know if it was an epiphany or a mid-life crisis, but I decided then to fully dedicate myself to music.

Why do you enjoy music? Is it the compelling lyrics, catchy melodies, or addictive rhythm? We are Tracing Faces, and we believe that every song is an opportunity to change a life for the better. Music is an incredibly powerful form of art, and with every lyric, melody, and rhythm we write we are striving to produce emotional content for you to blast in the car, listen through your headphones at night, or scream out loud at live shows.

Music is dying. Slowly, but it is. I don’t want to be one of those close-minded people who lives in the glorious pinnacle of the past, but we can all agree that the quality of the music industry has declined intensely since the second half of the past century. Today’s standards of what is labeled as art are worrying. Why do we live in such an artistic wasteland, you might ask?

Zibbz, an addicting swiss sibling alliance – heavy on the synth and heart-pumping bass, courtesy of multi-instrumentalist/producer, Stee, and topped by the soulful rock’n’roll growl out of the frontwoman, Coco, will represent Switzerland in this year’s European Songcontest.

Cameroon-born singer and songwriter Andy Allo is an artist who is truly paving her own path with a sound and vibe that is uniquely her own. Also, releasing her actual Christmas EP as free download sets her apart.

Our already 18th Artist of the Week, Noam Hassenfeld, is a composer, guitarist, and drummer currently based in Brooklyn.

Hot Flash Heat Wave, our eight Artist of the Week, is the brainchild of four best friends from Davis, California. During their high school years, they met and bonded through participation in a small, tight-knit community of musicians that put on a slew of DIY shows in parents’ garages and local venues, at the time each playing in a variety of different projects. After leaving Davis for various cities in California, the four eventually reunited in San Francisco to write and record under the same roof. Their debut LP Neapolitan, released in 2015, quickly launched them to the forefront of the Bay Area music scene with its candied hooks, fuzzy guitars and tunes reminiscent of The Smiths gone new wave.

No. 4 in our Artist of the Week series is Phildaelphia born Nic Hanson, now located in Brooklyn. Looking at the outcome under his own name, you would think he’s not that productive. But he does a lot of collaborations, as well as in his hometown as in New York and Los Angeles.
