Habibi – Surf Music from Brooklyn

Five years after their self-titled debut, Habibi released the EP Cardamom Garden this March with four stunning new surf punk hits.

The five girls from Brooklyn not only have an oriental tone in their music but they now also sing partially in the language Farsi, giving credit to the singer Rahill Jamalifard’s Iranian roots.

Their new EP reminds me very much of the EP Seduction by LInk Protrudi & the Jaymen from 1994. Does anybody still know them? Although, I still would prefer the Fuzztones, if I had to choose.
