AOD – Angel Of Dust
A presentation of a band that doesn’t settle with just one genre…
Listen to the album while reading the text.
It all began as a very small idea in the late ’80s. I was a singer in a gothic rock band called Joe And The Boys From Above and was thinking about starting a side project. That was put on ice for a couple of years, but in ’97, I took the first leap and started music production again after a long time.
The first steps were very unstable and tentative as the ideas slowly began to take form into tunes and eventually as whole songs, the musical isolation was broken!
In the early ’80s, I was also involved in a music project called Picture In Delight with my best friend. That band has been silent and was put in a shelf for 30 years. Today, we have started the band again, and you can find us on Bandcamp and SoundCloud. We took a new direction in our production since we thought that the old ideas were, well, too old simply. Today we do alternative synth-rock or goth rock for our audience, why don’t you give us a listen?!
Joe And The Boys From Above, as I mentioned before, was a gothic rock band inspired by a lot of different bands and styles; Motorhead, Black Sabbath, Sisters Of Mercy and Iggy Pop, just to name a few. I was the lead singer with a dark voice you also can hear in AOD, but today more like Carl Mccoy than Andrew Eldritch as in the early days.
Angel Of Dust have been and are inspired by different genres and styles from bands such as Dawn Of Ashes, Combichrist, Agonoize, Centhron, Solar Fake, Solitary Experiments, S.I.T.D and pretty much everything else we listen to and like. But they are just inspiration, and sometimes problem solvers when it comes to creating.
We always share ideas with each other and come up with different ways to make it sound good in the end. We are good co-workers and have never had any trouble.
Enjoy our music from Angel Of Dust and Picture In Delight.
