We all love the music of David Bowie. But I assume most of us didn’t know that Bowie was not only a gifted musician but also a passionate reader. Bowie’s son, the director, and screenwriter Duncan Jones, has lately launched the David Bowie Book Club in honor of his father, who died two years ago.
Members of the club read a new book every month and then spend twenty or so minutes blathering about it. The book club is open to everyone and is based on Bowie’s Top 100 Must Read Books, listed in 2013, including works ranging from 1945 to 2008.
The book for January is Peter Aykroyd’s award-winning Hawksmoor. If you wish to take part in the book club, you still have until February 1 to finish the novel.
