In the vast realm of hip-hop, an artist who goes by the name Herman “Nile Flame” Woods emerges. That’s me, founder of Majestic Gang, I’m not merely a rapper, I am a nomad, a visionary, and the self-proclaimed future king of hip-hop. As we delve into my narrative, we uncover the roots of my musical journey, the influences that shaped me, and the distinctive mark I aim to make with my sophomore album, H.L.W. 2.

The Story Begins
Originating from the vibrant streets of Philly, my journey brought me to Orlando in 2019, driven by my profound love for my son. But my musical odyssey already began in 2004, sparked by a humble set of tools – a CD player, CDs, and a keyboard. These were the instruments that birthed beats recorded on a tape recorder, a testament to my early passion and resourcefulness.
My artistic DNA is woven with threads from diverse influences such as Childish Gambino, Tyler the Creator, Cassidy, Jagged Edge, and Anthony Hamilton. Cassidy and Jagged Edge inspired me to carve an independent path. 2008, the Alien Nation Music Group was born, signifying my commitment to independence. Despite dropping out of two music programs, I honed my musical skills in church, played keyboards and drums, and augmented my business acumen through independent courses and internships.
Drawing the Line
Songs for H.L.W. 2 started germinating in my creative mind as early as 2019. H.L.W. 2 is not just an album; it’s a manifesto. I seek to draw a distinct line between hip-hop and rap, recognizing them as separate genres. For me, this demarcation is crucial for the positive evolution of hip-hop, extending its impact beyond the music and into the community.
I approach collaborations as partnerships, envisioning a harmonious fusion of frequencies. While some of my dream collaborators are no longer alive, the spirit of artists like Childish Gambino, xxxtentacion, Teddy Pendergrass, and Prince lives on through my music.
Connecting with Audience
Engaging with my audience is not a mere formality for me – it’s a way of life. Through social media and exclusive Majestic Gang events, I build a community where every supporter is more than just a fan; they are the driving force, the engine propelling my artistic journey. Upgrading their membership with Majestic Gang, my supporters transcend being mere spectators.
The most intimate connections happen during my daily Instagram lives, aptly named “Homeroom.” Here, supporters become students, sharing knowledge and experiences and forging a bond that goes beyond the music. Some have even expressed their engagement through custom-made gifts, a testament to my profound connection with my community.
My advice to aspiring independent artists is simple yet profound: be authentic, stay consistent, and reciprocate the engagement from your audience. In a world where superficiality often prevails, I advocate for a genuine connection with those who appreciate and resonate with your art.
The Journey Ahead
As I continue my journey, I remain my own competition, staying true to my artistic vision. The future king of hip-hop sees a path that only he can traverse. With H.L.W. 2, he invites the world to witness the evolution of not just an artist but a movement – a movement that aims to redefine the boundaries of hip-hop and leave an indelible mark on its legacy.
