I began composing music in high school. I had a strong background in film and worked on several student shorts that required original scores for submission. By the time I started college I had a collection of guitar-driven punk and indie rock songs that I showcased to start a band. Although nothing developed beyond jam sessions and brief collaborations I continued to explore different styles and eventually took on all aspects of recording.
After graduation I redirected my focus and dedicated my efforts to gaining a following as an internet band. It was at this time I rediscovered the name Anagram Noise, which I had written in my music journal years earlier, and adopted it as the moniker of the project. In the spring of 2016 I self-released an indie rock album entitled Symptoms which featured eight songs inspired by the leitmotifs of film scores. That same year I followed up my debut with Stigma –EP. This sophomore release was a reactionary effort to the clean tone of Symptoms by delving into post-rock.
2017 started off with the release of a single entitled Flames, which can be described as Gorillaz meets grunge. As my discography expanded I began approaching blogs and labels with a clear marketing strategy for submissions. At the end of July I received my first feature on a compilation by Factory Fast Records called Forge the Dream and in November I was included on another release from Milwaukee Junction Records, Indie Underground Vol. 7.
Following the achievements of the year before I self-released Obscuria – EP in January 2018. This record was a departure from my previous works by abandoning repetitive leads and traditional verse-chorus song structure. Obscuria – EP explores the post-metal genre as a medium for blending heavy and melodic sensibilities that were kept separate on Symptoms and Stigma – EP. This trend was further refined in the October release of my most recent single, the metalcore-inspired Assimilated Alters.
The future aspirations for Anagram Noise include a second full-length album, exponential following and collaborations on soundtracks for film, television and video games.
