Hey, my name is Ed Clarke! I’m currently in the process of releasing 3 new music albums over the space of 3 months. A bit of a taxing project, but stick around to see the outcome! Make sure to follow my content if you’re interested in my artsy things!
Le’ts start in the middle. Many years after both Josh and I, separately, had had music running through our veins and had already been the air we breathe. Although, mine in the form of a dream and Josh’s as his reality.
Let’s start in the middle. In a retail store in the big and unknown county of Fairfax, in northern Virginia, where Luna and Josh met.
I am from southern Texas, and I have been into music for a really long time now, and I love doing it, and hopefully, I can be able to do something with it in the future.
So who are The Facades? It’s a good question. Even though I play all four members of the group, and they all come from and live in my head, I still have a little trouble clearly defining them. Zyote, the serious executive producer with a heart of lead and a painted smile. Aces Wild, the androgynous rock star/party angel who borrows Bowie’s vision and runs amok with it. Glitchtech, the anxiety-driven machine made man with an ear to the subway walls and an eye on the truth. The Thin Man, the pure diamond of barely-repressed spite with a literal cult following. How do I play them all, and how do they all play me?
I’m kind of scared (and in love at once) of many life facts: The wild past times, the humanity, the death, the giant modern space, the concept of “fate”, etc;
Those fears inspire me to compose my ambient songs.
Lizette Roman-Johnston (DJ ZETTEY Z) grew up in a musical family, which was intimidating for a long time, but eventually, she worked up the courage to put out her first album called “BORDERLINE,” a 13-track work centered around her borderline personality disorder. Through the power of electronic bedroom pop, she touches upon the highs and lows of relationships, young adult life, and mental health.
If there was one song that I’ve written that sums up my whole life perfectly it is “As strange as fiction.” I’m sorry to admit that I’ve burned some bridges in life, especially when I was younger. And to be honest, this has probably been a factor that has held me back in music. I hope I have learned from this.
Guavo originally formed as a group project at Massey University’s: Bachelor of Commercial Music. They were tasked with writing, producing, and releasing two tracks. Together they wrote ‘Run Rosie’ and ‘Gate 23’, which are now available as singles on their Bandcamp page. Guavo intend to continue working on their folk-pop sound over the coming months.
It is not uncommon for artists to create bodies of work surrounding one incident, such as a breakup; Adele’s 21, and Joni Mitchell’s Blue come to mind as examples of this very thing. Myself, I went through a heartbreaking experience over four years ago which created the agony I needed to inspire myself to pick up a guitar and begin writing in a big way. I believe that that pain was the push I needed to put me where I am today. I released my debut album two months ago.
